Role Overview:

The Respiratory Care Specialists at Milford Fire Department play a vital role in the healthcare team. They are responsible for delivering comprehensive respiratory services, which include:

  • Administration of medical gases
  • Delivery of aerosolized medications
  • Implementation of lung expansion techniques
  • Assistance during bronchoscopies
  • Management of artificial airways
  • Ventilator oversight

Additionally, our specialists are integral members of emergency response teams, participating in critical situations and providing care for vulnerable populations.


Position Requirements:

This is a per diem role, with an expectation to cover a minimum of two shifts within a six-week timeframe. Flexibility to cover for regular staff during scheduled absences is essential.


Qualifications:
  • Education: High School Diploma; Associate Degree in Respiratory Care from an accredited program.
  • Licensure/Certification: Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT), Massachusetts Respiratory Care License, and current CPR certification.
  • Preferred Certifications: ACLS, NRP, PALS.
  • Experience: A minimum of one year is preferred, although less experience may be considered under specific circumstances, such as part-time work during education or prior CRT experience.

Compensation Differentials:

Our organization offers competitive differentials for various shifts, including:

  • $3.50 per hour for evening shifts
  • $4.75 per hour for night shifts
  • $2.75 per hour for weekend shifts

All differentials are compensated in accordance with departmental policies.
