Education and Student Support Specialist

At Rutherford County Schools, we are seeking an Education and Student Support Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for delivering comprehensive support services to all students, focusing on prevention and intervention programs, individual student planning, responsive services, referrals, consultation, collaboration, program foundation, management, accountability, and fair-share responsibility.
- Prevention and Intervention Programs: Develop and implement programs to promote student well-being and academic success
- Individual Student Planning: Work with teachers and parents to create personalized plans that cater to each student's unique needs
- Responsive Services: Provide immediate support to students experiencing challenges or crises
- Referrals: Facilitate connections between students and relevant resources to ensure they receive the help they need
- Consultation: Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other stakeholders to address student concerns and develop strategies for improvement
- Collaboration: Foster positive relationships among students, teachers, and parents to create a supportive learning environment
- Program Foundation: Establish and maintain effective systems for data collection, analysis, and reporting
- Management: Oversee daily operations, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation
- Accountability: Ensure compliance with district policies and regulations, as well as state and federal laws
- Fair-Share Responsibility: Promote equity and inclusivity by ensuring all students have access to equal opportunities and resources
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, and demonstrate a commitment to supporting student success. A Master's degree in School Counseling or related field, and completion of State of Tennessee requirements for school counseling educator licensure and preparation, are required for this position. Additionally, the selected candidate must be able to organize multiple priorities, meet health, physical, and background checks, and demonstrate team and independent work competency.
About the RoleThis position is available due to growth and expansion within our school district. We offer a competitive salary of $65,000 - $75,000 per year, based on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
