Electrical Engineer Job Description

Olsson is seeking a licensed Electrical Engineer with a passion for designing innovative solutions in the healthcare sector. As an Electrical Engineer on our Facilities Engineering and Design team, you will perform standard engineering techniques and procedures, applying sound judgment to make minor adaptations and modifications.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate, design, and construct plans for small to large-sized healthcare projects.
  • Assist in preparing project documents and maintain knowledge of project scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Conduct process design calculations, analyze reports, and prepare cost estimates to assess project feasibility.
  • Apply knowledge and experience with standard techniques, methods, and procedures to assist with coordination of project design aspects.
  • Communicate project development and progress with project managers and clients.
  • Enter and maintain project information and client records in the firm's project management system.
  • Evaluate and propose adaptations to standard methods and procedures for components of assignments.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members when necessary.
Requirements:
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving abilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Registered Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • A minimum of 4 years of electrical engineering experience, with at least 2 years specifically in designing for healthcare projects.
  • Enthusiasm for contributing to the healthcare industry through innovative and reliable electrical engineering solutions.
  • Healthcare-related certifications, such as Certified Healthcare Constructor (CHC) or Healthcare Physical Environment Worker, are a plus.
  • Membership in a state or national chapter of the American Society of Healthcare Engineers (ASHE) or equivalent is advantageous.

Typical salary range for this position is $93,000 - $143,000+ and is commensurate with experience relative to the position.
