Role Overview:
Quantitative Risk Assessment:
- Drive the research and innovation of quantitative models aimed at evaluating credit risk. This encompasses models for forecasting loan delinquency, defaults, losses, prepayment behaviors, and utilization rates, along with deposit attrition models and financial instrument valuation methods essential for capital planning and underwriting processes.
Data Management and Analysis:
- Compile, oversee, and scrutinize extensive datasets pertinent to customer loans, deposits, or financial metrics. Apply statistical methodologies to define and estimate econometric models, enhancing insights into customer behavior and the institution's operations. Ensure models are relevant to the institution's data and business context.
Model Deployment:
- Facilitate the complete development lifecycle and deployment of models utilizing agile methodologies. Leverage advanced programming tools and data science platforms. Implement these models in a production setting and convey analytical results to stakeholders across the organization. Track portfolio performance, model precision, campaign success, and risk strategy results, refining models to improve predictive capabilities.
Documentation and Regulatory Compliance:
- Create, sustain, and manage thorough model documentation, including process outlines and performance monitoring protocols, serving as a resource for future reference.
Interdepartmental Collaboration:
- Deliver expert financial analysis and data support across various divisions within the organization. Lead collaborations with Model Risk Management teams for model validation. Act as a subject matter expert in quantitative risk management across the institution.
Mentorship and Development:
- Provide mentorship and support to junior team members in data analysis, financial modeling, and predictive model development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 6 years of proven experience in quantitative behavioral modeling. Alternatively, a combination of at least 10 years of higher education and/or work experience, including a minimum of 6 years in quantitative behavioral modeling, will be considered in lieu of a degree.
- At least 6 years of practical experience with statistical software such as SAS, Python, Stata, or R.
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in data management environments, specifically utilizing tools like SQL Server Management Studio.
- A minimum of 6 years of experience in analyzing large datasets and effectively communicating results through clear written and verbal communication, as well as visual representations such as charts and graphs.
