Job Summary

This position supports the Respiratory Care program at Frederick Community College. The adjunct faculty member will teach in the classroom and laboratory setting, when needed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach classroom and laboratory courses related to all subject matter in Respiratory Care.
  • Facilitate student mastery of core learning outcomes using the most relevant and scholarly tools and technology available.
  • Evaluate the student for appropriate psychomotor, affective, and cognitive skills.
  • Demonstrate respect for students as individuals.
  • Communicate student progress to the Program Manager.
  • Demonstrate excellence in instructor performance as reflected by the majority of positive responses on instructor/course evaluations.
Requirements
  • Associate Degree.
  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) by the National Board for Respiratory Care.
  • Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner.
  • Obtain Maryland Respiratory Care Practitioner License within six months of hire (if current license is out of state).
  • Three (3) years of full-time work experience as a Respiratory Care Practitioner.
Preferred Qualifications
  • One (1) year classroom teaching experience.
  • One (1) year intensive care unit (ICU) experience.
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Power Point, and Blackboard Learning Management System.
  • Ability to use varying styles and approaches that reflect an understanding and acceptance of the role of culture in a diverse, multicultural workplace.
