Respiratory Care Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Care Coordinator to join our team at University of Iowa Commun. As a key member of our respiratory care team, you will be responsible for assisting customers with Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) equipment and supplies.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct patient account setups by ensuring appropriate documentation is in place prior to service, along with dispensing appropriate respiratory equipment as prescribed by physician orders.
- Assist patients with proper mask fitting and adjustments as needed.
- Monitor patient compliance reports and interpret sleep studies to assist in education and proper treatment.
- Educate patients on specific treatments, proper use of equipment, cleaning of devices, and insurance requirements.
- Communicate with providers and patients regarding therapy changes or issues.
- Ensure thorough and detailed documentation.
- Use equipment to test PAP devices to ensure proper pressure is being administered.
- Efficiently handle all customer issues in a professional manner.
- Follow all legal and company standards; HIPAA, safety, and security.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- RRT, CRT, or LPN clinical credential required.
- Must be CPR Certified or willing to become certified through UI Health Ventures.
- Proficient with technology and working knowledge of common office equipment.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Excellent communication skills both oral and written.
- Ability to problem solve and strong attention to detail.
- Some experience in a clinical setting preferred.
- Experience with Epic and Brightree is highly desirable.
- Experience with (DME) Durable Medical Equipment.
- Experience working with insurance benefits.
