Job Title: Direct Support Professional

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to join our team at Friendship Community Care. As a Direct Support Professional, you will play a vital role in providing support and care to individuals with developmental disabilities, enabling them to live independently and participate fully in their communities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with daily living skills, including personal care, meal preparation, and household management.
  • Provide transportation to and from appointments and activities, ensuring safe and reliable transportation.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of client progress, including behavioral reports, incident reports, and progress notes.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized plans of care, ensuring the best possible outcomes for clients.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to enhance skills and knowledge in areas such as medication management, crisis intervention, and behavioral support.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; two+ years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
  • Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and perform physical tasks as needed.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with clients, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
