Aquaculture Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Aquaculture Technician to join our team at the City of New Haven. As an Aquaculture Technician, you will be responsible for managing the operations of the fish production laboratory, including monitoring and maintaining the supply of treated fresh and saltwater aquariums and other aquatic holding habitats.

• Monitor and maintain optimum conditions across a variety of aquatic environments, including water quality testing.
• Perform routine maintenance on all equipment in the fish production laboratory, including water pumps and filtration systems.
• Manage inventory and supplies, including ordering and purchasing as needed.
• Assist teachers and students with lab and class projects, including setting up and training on safety and other issues.
• Other duties as assigned by the Principal or administrator designee.

• Bachelor's degree in marine biology or related field.
• Minimum of two years of related laboratory skills and experience with both fresh and saltwater aquariums.
• Previous experience with aquaculture technology and aquaculture industry required.
