Job Description

At Hughes Resources, we are seeking a skilled Finishing Operator to join our team in Dixon, IL. As a Finishing Operator, you will be responsible for operating slitting machines and preparing product for shipment to customers.

Responsibilities:
  • Load and unload laminate reels on/off winders, running the machine and recording reel transactions.
  • Closely monitor product quality, ensuring first-quality material is shipped to customers.
  • Report machine breakdowns/faults, possible quality defects not marked in coating, and other process disturbances to the supervisor.
  • Report process and/or mechanical difficulties, coordinating with the supervisor and production planning to optimize material/order flow.
  • Assure adequate operating supplies and inform purchasing of any shortages.
  • Perform other tasks as specified by the Quality Management System.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • 1-2 years' work experience in an industrial setting.
  • Previous work experience in the paper/paper converting industry or experience working with web-handling equipment is desired.
  • Previous slitting/finishing of pressure-sensitive laminates is preferred.
  • Must be computer-literate.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge is an advantage.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
