Job Summary

The Senior Manager Data Operations will have a strong background in leading teams focused on run operations for an enterprise data platform. In this role, you will oversee the operational aspects of the bank's data platform, including system operations, incident management, change and release management, service level management, documentation, and compliance, and overall continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Data Platform DataOps Technical Strategy: Ensure scalability, reliability, reusability, observability, security, and performance.
  • Oversee Day-to-Day Operations: Monitor and ensure system performance, availability, and reliability to minimize downtime and optimize load performance.
  • Lead and Mentor a Team: Foster a culture of continuous improvement and agility, leading a team of support analysts and data engineers.
  • Manage Vendor Relationships: Act as the central point of contact for key vendor relationships.
  • Implement Continuous Improvement: Leverage automation and continuous improvement techniques to shift left work, reduce incidents, and enable a better user experience.
  • Ensure Service Level Agreements: Oversee the process of implementing and coordinating changes to minimize disruption to operations and ensure the data platform meets agreed-upon service level agreements and performance targets.
  • Document Critical Applications and Processes: Lead the team in documenting critical applications and processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience: 10+ years of experience leading engineering or technology run/operations teams, 5-6 years of experience with data engineering work, platforms, and technologies, and 3-5 years of experience with Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, Snowflake).
