Role Overview

The Investment Portfolio Analyst plays a crucial and proactive role within the Moors & Cabot team, dedicated to delivering exceptional services to high net worth individuals and foundations, aiding them in reaching their financial aspirations. This position is vital in nurturing and enhancing the Client/Financial Professional relationship, with direct client interaction being a significant aspect of the role. By fostering these connections and being an active, collaborative team member, this position offers opportunities for advancement into direct portfolio management and leadership roles in client relationships.

This full-time position reports to the respective Branch Manager, with additional insights provided by the assigned Financial Professional(s). The role operates on a hybrid model, requiring three days in the office each week.

Key Responsibilities

Client/Financial Professional Team Duties (80%)

  • Continuously assess clients' financial circumstances with precision, including monitoring portfolio transactions and addressing inquiries.
  • Formulate and execute financial planning strategies for clients, conducting in-depth research and financial analysis.
  • Support the existing client base through tailored portfolio management and personalized service models.
  • Develop, maintain, and update client databases and financial plans.
  • Conduct research for client portfolios utilizing various analytical tools.
  • Prepare comprehensive portfolio reviews, asset evaluations, and client presentation materials for meetings.
  • Stay informed about the latest tax regulations and industry developments.
  • Comprehend clients' risk tolerance and devise strategies to mitigate risk.
  • Maintain professional licenses and certifications.
  • Document and execute financial transactions, including trades, deposits, and withdrawals.
  • Foster collaborative relationships with other business functions to ensure efficient operations and resolve issues as they arise.
  • Adhere to compliance and firm policies.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant FINRA/SEC regulations, including licensure and continuing education requirements.

Administrative Duties (20%)

  • Communicate directly with clients to address account requests or concerns through various channels.
  • Organize and maintain client files, CRM notes, and documentation.
  • Maintain open lines of communication with assigned Financial Professionals to explore financial opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Marketing to support financial professional marketing initiatives.
  • Complete data entry for financial planning software.
  • Take proactive steps in professional development through available training resources.
  • Utilize digital tools for document management and signature processes.
  • Contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of the company brand.
  • Submit monthly expense reports to ensure accurate financial tracking.
  • Provide administrative support to Financial Professionals and Branch Manager as needed.
  • Actively promote a positive team culture and morale.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Performance Metrics

  • Ability to integrate into the financial professional's business and establish client rapport.
  • Timely and accurate completion of research and financial planning reports.
  • Achievement of individual and branch goals as outlined in performance management tools.
  • Initiative to enhance existing processes and identify solutions for operational efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in Financial Services.
  • Possession of FINRA Series 7 and 63, 65 or 66 licenses.
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • Strong interest in financial markets.
  • Comprehensive understanding of financial planning, portfolio management, and fiduciary investment principles.
  • Experience with financial planning software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Suite.
  • Ability to take initiative and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Competent in critical thinking, organization, attention to detail, and effective communication.

Preferred Qualifications

  • CFA or CFP designation, or a commitment to pursue certification.
  • Familiarity with financial software tools such as Advent, Addepar, Redtail, RBC, and MoneyGuidePro.
