Job Title: Master Scheduler

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Master Scheduler to join our team at VetJobs. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, staffing, and scheduling personnel resources to ensure adequate coverage of all security posts and essential positions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement shift rosters for each shift, ensuring fair scheduling practices and achieving safe and secure facility operations.
  • Manage schedule/shift adjustments to optimize schedule adherence and provide overall staffing efficiencies.
  • Implement and maintain the approved workforce management platform, including the development of shift rosters, scheduling of annual in-service training, and partner-mandated training.
  • Work with facility management to revise shift cards as needed to provide a fair balance in staff level and experience on all shifts.
  • Develop working partnerships with Human Resources, Payroll, and Training departments to ensure items impacting schedules and shift rosters are properly communicated and documented.
  • Serve as the primary contact for the overtime tracking process and conduct weekly meetings with facility management to discuss issues related to any schedule impacting items.
  • Ensure that each employee receives required training and verifies that all training requirements are satisfied prior to scheduling employee.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma, GED certification, or equivalent required.
  • Associate's degree preferred.
  • One year experience with shift scheduling required.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially Microsoft Excel, required.
  • Experience with Kronos or other timekeeping systems preferred.
  • Strong analytical, oral, and written communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • A valid driver's license is required.

Additional Qualifications:

  • Two years correctional industry experience preferred.
  • Additional qualifying education at an accredited college, business school, or technical institute in office administration or a related field may be substituted for the one year of required experience.
