Job Title: Financial Analyst

At CLAAS, we are seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to join our North American Finance Team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in facilitating financial information and accounting data between stakeholders and central accounting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Timely and proper budgeting, tracking, and reporting of financial activities, including accounting and controlling tasks related to cost accounting, inventory controls, R&D controlling, project management, and fixed assets.
  • Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for management review on assigned responsibilities.
  • Cost accounting tasks related to inventory reconciliation and controlling activities, month-end close activities, and other duties as required within a manufacturing environment.
  • Assistance in Budgeting and Forecasting activities for capital investments, standard product costs, inventory obsolescence, manufacturing processing variances, and purchase price variances.
  • Preparation, scheduling, and documentation of information to aid in the facilitation of the decision-making process within the budgeting and forecasting cycles.
  • Management, monitoring, and initial review of all capital expenditures, ensuring compliance to CLAAS Corporate guidelines.
  • Leadership and management of various projects, local content processes, and travel management reporting and data collection.
  • Establishment of accounting standards and analysis of product cost changes year over year.
  • Evaluation of cost data to identify manufacturing process variances and delivery of detailed explanations.
  • Performance of target cost calculations and analysis of potential standard cost deviations.
  • Month-end close activities for Production Company, including month-end analysis and reporting of manufacturing and purchase price variances.
  • Preparation of payback calculations on applicable investments and/or projects, e.g., running business scenarios for evaluating new product lines in the plant for NA.
  • Performance of R&D controlling activities, e.g., gathering inputs and establishing annual cost rate, performing monthly reporting of actual project costs vs. plan, etc.
  • Establishment of new benchmarks for cycle counting, inventory accuracy, and inventory turns.
  • Preparation of liquidity forecasts and reconciliation of deviations from plan and prior forecasts.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field of study, or equivalent work experience required.
  • Minimum of 5+ years accounting experience within a manufacturing environment, highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of accounting applications in an integrated computerized environment.
  • Expert level EXCEL skills, required.
  • Demonstrated ability to evaluate data and quickly and accurately assimilate into a useful format to convey a clear explanation.
  • Ability to fully understand costing activities and analysis of cost increases.
  • Proven strong initiative and ambitious toward process improvements.
  • Knowledge of general accounting practice, financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • High degree of accuracy and competency in finance and accounting functions.
  • Experience with and knowledge of SAP, highly desirable.
