About the Job

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Painter and Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Busch Gardens. This is a key role that plays a major part in ensuring our park remains visually appealing and well-maintained.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing various painting tasks, including general paint work, utilizing different application methods such as airless spray and conventional spray equipment. They will also be involved in pressure washing, assembling and dismantling scaffolding, and selecting the right materials for the job.

Responsibilities
  • Perform all functions of general paint work for in-park painting services while maintaining a safe environment for guests and employees
  • Utilize various application methods, including airless spray and conventional spray equipment
  • Perform pressure washing, assemble, and dismantle scaffolding
  • Select proper materials for jobs
  • Maintain cleanliness in the paint shop and storage areas
  • Dependable performance in terms of attendance, acceptance of assignments, and adherence to safety policies
  • Direct painting team in supervisor's absence and communicate with park leadership
Requirements
  • At least one year of onsite experience or equivalent experience in the painting field
  • Experience working with chemical and hazardous waste
  • Ability to obtain a company driver's license, including high-reach and forklift licenses
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable building and working on scaffolding up to 24ft
  • Pass a respirator fit test
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Comfortable working at heights up to 385ft
  • Lift 50 pounds and push/pull up to 100 pounds with assistance
  • Climb and work off ladders
  • Paint and body experience
  • Fiberglass repairs, applying polyester bondo, and refinishing experience
  • Familiarity with Mach and Sata HVLP automotive spray guns
  • Ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Comfortable with exposure to noise and vibrations
  • Working around fumes/dust/odor comfortable
  • Train on and use protective gear properly
Estimated Salary Range

$45,000 - $60,000 per annum, based on experience and qualifications.
