Laboratory Education Specialist

Job Summary:

CapLeo Global is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Clinical Educator to join our team in a Direct Hire position. This role requires a Cytogenetic Technician to apply clinical expertise in evidence-based laboratory practice, providing education and support to both students completing clinical rotations and laboratory teammates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Curriculum Development: Create educational curriculum and collaborate with system lab leaders, program chairs, and laboratory staff to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Competency Assessment: Participate in a competency assessment program, where qualified, to ensure teammates meet accreditation complexity requirements.
  • Culture and Teamwork: Foster a culture that values and recognizes the importance of teaching excellence for students and teammates, promoting a teamwork-focused environment.
  • Training and Development: Assign and coordinate efficient training of students and teammates, delegating authority and responsibility as appropriate to ensure timely completion of training documentation.
  • Education and Training Resources: Design, develop, and facilitate the dissemination of standard best practice training resources in response to healthcare trends, regulatory requirements, and strategic priorities of the organization.
  • Learning and Development: Utilize multiple education modalities and leverage technology to provide educational activities both on and off the bench to increase engagement and productivity.
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Assess learning styles and levels of experience to customize training programs for a unique one-on-one learning experience.
  • Quality Assurance: Perform competency assessments for teammates, ensuring that all teammates meet accreditation complexity requirements prior to reporting patient results and ongoing thereafter.
  • Communication: Maintain clear, real-time communications shift-to-shift and with leadership regarding issues, concerns, and problems that may affect patient care or the operation of the organization.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting, with a focus on education and training.
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment.
  • Certifications: Certified Cytogenetic Technologist (CCT) or equivalent certification.
