Gana-A'Yoo, Limited is in search of a dedicated Culinary Specialist II to enhance our food service operations. This role is pivotal in ensuring the delivery of high-quality, cost-efficient culinary services while adhering to safety standards. Responsibilities include meal planning, food preparation, procurement, inventory management, daily documentation, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. This position also involves supervising kitchen staff to uphold operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare nutritious and innovative meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, focusing on quality and presentation.
- Implement cost-saving measures and ensure portion control to minimize waste while maximizing efficiency.
- Oversee and assist kitchen staff in daily tasks, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality standards.
- Foster positive relationships with clients, colleagues, and residents to promote a collaborative work environment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support kitchen operations.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience in cooking for large groups (30 or more) with a preference for supervisory experience of at least two years.
- ServSafe Certification and Alaska Food Handlers Card are mandatory; baking and waste management experience is a plus.
- Skilled in preparing various protein types while ensuring proper cooking temperatures and moisture retention.
- Proficient in basic mathematics for accurate food quantity calculations to avoid excess and waste.
- Must successfully pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check.
