Job Opportunity: Carpet Installers

We are expanding our team at Floor Coverings International of Southeast Knoxville and looking for skilled Flooring Installation Professionals to join us.

This is a 1099 contractor-based position where you will complete installation jobs using provided flooring materials, adhering to industry standards and safety protocols while delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure high-quality workmanship and adherence to industry standards
  • Clean the work area before and after each project, removing debris and dust
  • Lay various types of carpets and patterns, including residential and commercial flooring
  • Measure and cut flooring materials accurately according to blueprints
  • Use chalk lines and tapes to mark measurements and ensure proper positioning
  • Advise clients on flooring maintenance and upkeep
  • Prepare the work surface by removing old hardware and applying adhesive
  • Inspect finished work for any imperfections or cracks
  • Disconnect and remove light fixtures or appliances upon completion

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of different carpet types with a focus on seamless seams
  • Familiarity with hand tools like hammers and measuring tapes, as well as power tools such as electric saws and drilling machines
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Demonstrate physical strength and endurance
  • Strong communication and analytical skills
  • Good mathematical skills and ability to read blueprints
  • Licensed and insured
