Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Armed Security Officer to join our team at Northwell Health. As a key member of our security team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our patients, visitors, and staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol buildings and grounds to prevent fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry, and to enforce hospital policies.
  • Enforce access control policy and secure doors, locks, and alarms as required.
  • Control and regulate pedestrian and vehicular traffic in a safe and orderly manner.
  • Operate and maintain facility vehicles and security equipment in accordance with regulatory compliance and policies.
  • Write incident reports to document events and assist security personnel in the performance of their duties.
  • Carry a firearm as directed and report all fire hazards and safety violations.
  • Escort hospital personnel as required and assist in surveillance of high-profile patients and visitors.
  • Investigate incidents and make recommendations as needed.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Active or former sworn law enforcement personnel or a licensed New York State Armed Security Guard required.
  • Valid NYS Armed Security Guard license and NYS Pistol Permit required.
  • Current or former NYS Police/Peace Officer preferred.
