Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Practical Nurse - Licensed 1 to join our team at the State of Louisiana. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide exceptional patient care and support to our patients in a stable and predictable environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement nursing care plans, focusing on comfort, hygiene, safety measures, nutrition, and other essential aspects of patient care.
  • Observe patients for changes in physical and mental status or behavior and report significant changes to the healthcare team.
  • Administer medication and treatments in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Transcribe physicians' orders and record patient information on charts and other records.
  • Participate in change of shift reports and request stock medications, supplies, and equipment as needed.
  • Administer CPR in emergency situations and assist physicians with routine examinations and treatments.
Requirements
  • Possession of a valid Louisiana license or temporary permit to practice practical nursing or a multi-state license issued by a Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC/eNLC) state.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
