RailWorks is seeking a highly skilled Senior Signal Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our signal design team, you will be responsible for designing and implementing signal systems for our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop signal systems in accordance with client needs, industry standards, and company policies
  • Prepare and review specifications for signal systems, ensuring conformity to industry practices
  • Inspect and test signal systems, equipment, structures, and materials for safety and conformity to industry standards
  • Assist with installation and repair of signal equipment
  • Interact with multi-discipline teams on proposals and projects
  • Follow and promote company and industry safety rules, practices, and procedures
  • Assist with preparation of operating plans and schedules
  • Write reports and prepare engineering documentation
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 7-15 years' experience in signal system design, installation/construction, testing, and repair
  • Knowledge of a wide range of signaling concepts, principles, and practices
  • Knowledge of new signal construction standards and requirements
  • Ability to review, analyze, and resolve difficult and complex signal problems
  • Ability to interpret effectively and accurately, reference, evaluate, organize, and record technical information
  • Ability to apply safety rules, practice safe work habits, identify safety risks, and avoid potentially risky behaviors and situations
  • Strong interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
  • Works outdoors at construction sites and office environments
  • Frequently stands, walks, climbs, balances, stoops, and crouches while negotiating work areas under construction
  • Sits, reads, writes, and uses a keyboard
  • May be exposed to harsh weather conditions, including very hot and very cold weather
  • May be exposed to loud noise
