Job Description

The Personal Lines Underwriter will review and analyze homeowners insurance applications to ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines, policies, and regulatory requirements. This role requires strong communication and problem-solving skills, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess risk and determine coverage eligibility for homeowners insurance applications
  • Collaborate with agents and clients to gather necessary documentation and provide underwriting decisions
  • Ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines, policies, and regulatory requirements
  • Utilize MS applications to process applications, manage data, and maintain records accurately
  • Provide exceptional customer service and maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Proven personal lines underwriting experience
  • Valid MA or RI personal lines agent license
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Strong team orientation with excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Familiarity with underwriting systems and software
  • Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
