About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Pyschiatric Care Specialist to join our team at GEO Corrections & Detentions. As a key member of our mental health program, you will be responsible for evaluating and treating inmates with mental illness, supervising nursing staff, and providing overall psychiatric direction.

Responsibilities
  • Evaluate patients referred for mental illness and provide treatment as needed
  • Supervise clinical activities and medical personnel
  • Provide emergency psychiatric care and in-service education to staff
  • Document all services provided in patient medical files
  • Participate in quality of care reviews and perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited medical school with specialty training in psychiatry
  • Licensed to practice medicine in the state where the facility is located
  • One year of clinical experience
  • Ability to work with computers and necessary software
