A landscape maintenance technician will support tree crews by performing ground-level tasks and providing tools and heavy materials to team members. Candidates should possess the ability to climb, stand, walk, kneel, and stoop, as well as transport heavy items. Excellent balance and depth perception are essential, along with strong communication skills. Technicians must be able to follow directions and maintain effective communication. Climbing ladders and performing physically demanding labor in various conditions are required. A proficient technician understands the importance of keeping work areas clean and organized, ensuring job site cleanliness at all times.

The responsibilities of a landscape maintenance technician include assisting tree climbers with tree removal, branch trimming, and the overall upkeep of trees and shrubs. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in tree care and a solid commitment to safety practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist tree climbers in tree removal and branch trimming tasks
  • Operate and maintain tools such as chainsaws, chippers, and stump grinders
  • Conduct general maintenance of trees and shrubs, including pruning and fertilization
  • Adhere to safety protocols consistently
  • Communicate effectively with team members and clients
  • Perform additional duties as required

Qualifications:

  • Experience in tree care or a related field (preferred)
  • Ability to operate and maintain relevant equipment (preferred)
  • Strong commitment to safety
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Valid driver's license and dependable transportation

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to stand, walk, and bend for extended periods
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
