Job Summary
As a Radiation Therapist at UNC Health, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our Comprehensive Cancer Program. We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Radiation Therapist to join our team at UNC Rockingham Health Care.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer radiation therapy treatments to oncology patients, ensuring accurate and safe delivery of treatment plans.
- Assist physicians, radiation oncologists, and clinical physicists in preparing physical and technical aspects of radiation treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate patient and billing records, adhering to department policies and procedures.
- Perform routine and complex radiation therapy treatments, including total body irradiation, stereotactic radiosurgery, and low and high brachytherapy.
- Prepare equipment and room for patient treatments, utilizing appropriate protective equipment and procedures to ensure patient and staff safety.
- Provide on-the-job clinical instruction and evaluation for student radiation therapists.
Requirements
- Graduation from a Radiation Therapy Technologist program approved by the Council of Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA).
- Radiation Therapy certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or Board Eligible (must receive certification within one year of hire).
