Job Summary

Lufkin Industries is seeking a skilled Crane Operator to join our team in Odessa, TX. As a Crane Operator, you will be responsible for safely operating a mobile crane to lift, move, and position loads, while providing support to the Field Supervisor/Manager in all areas of operation and equipment repair.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a 50-ton to large cranes in a safe and effective manner.
  • Inspect, clean, and perform operator-level maintenance on equipment in accordance with standards.
  • Closely interact with crew members on job tasks and safety accountability.
  • Provide leadership and mentoring to crew members.
  • Perform daily safety checks to ensure equipment is in safe operating condition.
  • Follow related safety regulations, contract requirements, company policies, and operating procedures.
  • Complete necessary documentation and reporting.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma/GED from an accredited school or institution.
  • Ability to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Comfortable working at heights with proper fall protection.
  • Ability to carry various pieces of the pumping unit of substantial weight.
  • Ability to work in a constant pushing, pulling, lifting, stretching, bending, and other physical activities.
  • Ability to be in the field environment a minimum of 8 hours per day, primarily standing and sitting, as required.
  • Lift objects weighing up to 40 lbs.
  • Ability to be subjected to extreme heat and cold for extended periods of time.
  • Must have a clean driving record.
Essential Characteristics
  • Results and success-oriented mentality, conveying a sense of urgency and driving initiatives to close.
  • Experience in field service repair or oil field repair preferred.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Passionate about maintaining employee health and safety.
Work Schedule and Location
  • Monday-Friday
  • 10-12 hour day
  • OT and weekends as per business demands
  • Odessa, TX
