UVA Health System is seeking an experienced Adult Endocrinology Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care, work collaboratively with our medical director and administrative management, and contribute to the development of our clinical services.
Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive health histories and physical assessments, including initiation of CPR or other appropriate emergency therapy as needed.
- Formulate diagnoses, identify problems and health risk profiles, and document and clearly communicate with other members of the healthcare team.
- Perform and order diagnostic studies, such as x-rays and laboratory tests, in consultation with peers and colleagues.
- Order medications, treatments, and therapies in accordance with Virginia Prescriptive regulations.
- Request consultation and initiate referrals to other healthcare providers, including specialists when and if needed.
- Evaluate and analyze patient responses to the disease process and/or therapeutic, diagnostic interventions.
- Provide information, education, and support to patients/families regarding disease processes and treatment plans.
- Graduate of an accredited graduate school of nursing or physician assistant program with a master's degree.
- Department and unit-specific experience.
- License or license eligible as an Advance Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner, Physician Associate, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, and Certified Nurse Midwife) as set forth by the state of Virginia.
