Position Overview:

The Senior Audio Visual Specialist is dedicated to enhancing the customer experience through the installation and troubleshooting of sophisticated audio visual systems within a collaborative team setting. This role demands a professional with extensive experience in intricate Audio Visual systems and their integration across corporate, governmental, and educational sectors. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional technical proficiency in Audio Visual design, signal flow, structural integrity, custom terminations, control and DSP programming, and networking.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive site assessments and communicate client requirements and environmental factors to the design team.
  • Oversee the staging and installation of complex multi-room Audio Visual systems, coordinating with on-site trades and customer IT personnel while leading the field specialist team.
  • Provide training to Field Specialists on newly released products and established Audio Visual standards.
  • Regularly update the Project Manager and collaborate with Design Engineers to ensure installations align with the Statement of Work (SOW), proactively addressing potential site or design challenges.
  • Commission complex multi-room installations utilizing a room commissioning toolkit.
  • Collaborate with programmers to implement basic room control systems, maintaining a solid technical understanding of complex control system installations.
  • Commission Audio Visual equipment by troubleshooting control systems, configuring video EDID tables, and optimizing DSP for superior audio fidelity.
  • Deliver user and technical training on all installed systems.
  • Complete and submit installation documentation checklists, including as-built drawings, configuration file backups, and site photographs.
  • Work independently while serving as a team lead for project implementations.
  • Identify and escalate client issues to appropriate resources when immediate resolution is not possible, ensuring timely communication with affected parties.
  • Maintain professionalism and discipline in all interactions and communications.
  • Possess foundational knowledge of IP networking.
  • Contribute to the overall success and knowledge enhancement of the team.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Engage in continuous self-education through various training methods to uphold a high level of proficiency in relevant technologies.
  • Stay informed about available resources and keep abreast of technological advancements and challenges.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of 4-6 years of experience leading professional Audio Visual installations.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Proficient in the installation and configuration of audio and video conferencing systems across diverse room environments and extensive Audio Visual setups.
  • Thorough understanding of Audio Visual network requirements within larger networks.
  • Basic knowledge of VoIP and analog (POTS) phone systems.
  • Crestron Digital Media Certification, with strong familiarity with Crestron equipment and Toolbox software.
  • Biamp Tesira Certification, with a solid understanding of gain structure and room acoustics.
  • Infocomm CTS-I Certification, demonstrating knowledge of industry standards and best practices.
  • OSHA Certification, with awareness of structural requirements and safety considerations.
  • Able to work autonomously and collaboratively, effectively communicating daily objectives to the field specialist team while focusing on the complete project timeline.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and analytical skills to diagnose and resolve existing Audio Visual issues and proactively address concerns for new installations.
  • Capable of functioning in a high-pressure environment.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office products.

  • Operate effectively in a high-pressure environment and meet strict deadlines.
  • Exhibit manual dexterity to operate a computer keyboard and standard office equipment.
  • Assemble common computer, data network, and voice equipment, including component installation.
  • Lift and move objects weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • Remain seated or standing for extended periods.
  • Travel extensively as required.
  • Work outside of standard business hours when necessary.
  • Utilize a ladder safely in accordance with manufacturer specifications.
  • Communicate effectively through speaking and listening.
