Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate radiographic equipment safely and proficiently to produce high-quality images.
  • Calculate and apply optimal exposure factors to ensure diagnostic-quality images.
  • Assist radiologists and healthcare practitioners with invasive procedures, prioritizing patient safety and comfort.
  • Communicate effectively with patients to explain procedures and ensure their safety and comfort during exams.
  • Implement radiation safety measures and protection devices to comply with regulations.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in operating the PACS computer system to manage and retrieve medical images.

Requirements:

  • Must be a senior student attending an accredited two-year Radiology Technology training program at a school approved by the Council of Medical Education of the AMA.
  • Active BLS Certification is required.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is necessary.
