Job Title: CTE/Agriculture Teacher

Rockingham County Schools is seeking a highly qualified and dedicated CTE/Agriculture Teacher to join our team at McMichael High School.

Job Summary:

The CTE/Agriculture Teacher will be responsible for planning, organizing, and presenting instruction and instructional environments that help students learn subject matter and skills that will contribute to their educational and social development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan and deliver instruction to students in agriculture and related subjects.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the needs of diverse learners.
  • Assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
  • Manage classroom behavior and maintain a safe and respectful learning environment.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to improve teaching skills and stay current with industry developments.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Agriculture Education or related field.
  • Two years of experience in teaching agriculture or related subject.
  • Ability to work with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and priorities.
Working Conditions:

The CTE/Agriculture Teacher will work in a fast-paced educational environment with a diverse student population. The teacher will be required to stand for long periods, move around the classroom, and use a variety of equipment and tools.

Physical Requirements:

The CTE/Agriculture Teacher must be able to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects weighing up to 25 pounds. The teacher must also be able to stand for long periods and move around the classroom.
