Nurse Practitioner

The Family Nurse Practitioner (NP) will use clinical judgments to conduct health assessments, make differential diagnoses, and prescribe pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments. The NP will plan and implement health care through independent action, health counseling, and collaboration with other members of the health team.

The NP is responsible for clinical oversight and health center consultation regarding the administration of health care policy and procedure of the delivery of on-site health services when the Medical Lead Physician is not on site. The NP promotes optimum health, prevents illness and injury, and manages acute and chronic health problems in the on-site setting.

• Performs physical examinations and preventive health measures within prescribed guidelines and instructions of the Physician.
• Orders, interprets, and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' clinical problems and healthcare needs.
• Records physical findings, formulates plans and prognoses based on patient condition.
• Provides patient education and information or summaries.
• Collaborates with the Physician and other health professionals to prepare comprehensive patient care plans as necessary.
• Prescribes or recommends medications or other forms of treatment such as physical therapy, inhalation therapy, or related therapeutic procedures.
• Maintains medical records using Electronic Medical Record software.
• Educates and coaches nursing staff and medical assistants on best practices.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A Master's degree in Nursing (MSN).
• A minimum of 1-year experience in a Family Practice/Primary Care environment.
• Certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner.
• Knowledge of workplace health and safety concepts and OSHA regulations (preferred).
• Licensure as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner in the state of practice.
• National Certification as a Family or Adult Nurse Practitioner.
• Current Certification in AHA or ARC Basic Life Support for medical providers.
• Appropriate certification to write prescriptions under the authority of the Medical Leader (if allowed in the state of practice).
• Strong computer skills, including knowledge of Internet software, Spreadsheet software, and Word Processing software.
