Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Behavioral Health Technician to join our team at First Responder Wellness. As a key member of our care team, you will provide essential support to patients in our detox and residential programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct new patient initial assessments and provide orientation to new patients
  • Assess and document patients' needs and care, collaborating with other staff to manage patient care
  • Observe medications and treatments as ordered by the consulting physician, maintaining accurate records as required
  • Ensure infection control practices and reporting procedures are implemented and maintained
  • Respond to emergencies and initiate action as outlined in company policies and procedures
  • Perform basic health screenings, vital signs, and first aid procedures as necessary
  • Conduct urinalysis test collection according to company policies and procedures
  • Maintain communication with LVNs, supervisor, Health Care Practitioner, and/or other key staff regarding patient care
  • Support program staff with resident de-escalation and crisis management
  • Ensure patient compliance with facility rules and guidelines
  • Occasionally drive clients to groups/meetings and/or drive clients from/to the airport
Requirements
  • High school diploma
  • One year's experience in the substance abuse field
  • Registered or Certified with a DHCS approved provider
  • A current valid CA driver's license is required
  • Submission of DMV driving record is required
Competencies
  • Knowledge of HIPAA
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to cultural diversity and sensitivity
  • Knowledge of detoxification protocol and related care
  • Ability to accurately record information and prepare reports
  • Ability to navigate the company's EHR system
Working Conditions

Work is performed in an office or other environmentally controlled room. Work may expose incumbent to contagious or infectious diseases, dangerous and volatile situations, or possible bodily injury.
