Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain a safety program within the department
  • Monitor, train, and coordinate maintenance personnel to ensure tasks and work orders are performed in a timely manner
  • Oversee the preventive maintenance program and establish priorities for assigned tasks
  • Mentor peers and other co-workers as applicable
  • Coordinate activities and develop a plan for materials, labor, and work order completion
Requirements
  • Associate Degree or equivalent experience
  • 3 or more years of demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience in the Preventative Maintenance Industry
  • Skills: advanced repair knowledge, proper use of associated tools and equipment, excellent communication skills, ability to guide and mentor others, ability to manage multiple priorities
Preferred Qualifications
  • College or Trade School degree
  • Ten years of direct supervisory experience in maintenance, plant operations, manufacturing, or other technical supervisory positions
  • Journeyman qualifications or equivalent in one of the technical crafts
  • Analytical skills, clear reasoning ability, and ability to work independently
Working Conditions
  • Must be able to lift loads no greater than 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to climb stairs, ladders, scaffolding, and work around confined areas with piping and wiring obstructions
  • Requires moderate to heavy physical activity, including bending, stooping, climbing, balancing, standing, and walking up to 8 hours per day
Essential Personnel
  • This position is considered essential during a campus emergency. The incumbent in this position is expected to report to campus, provide the essential services designated, and work under the overall direction of the Crisis Management Team for the duration of a campus emergency.
