About the Job:

As a Surgical Technologist at Community Health Systems, you will play a vital role in the care of surgical patients. Your primary responsibility will be to assist the surgical team in preparing and maintaining a safe and efficient operating room environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the operating room, including setting up and cleaning equipment and supplies.

Assist the surgical team in preparing patients for surgery, including positioning and draping patients.

Pass instruments and supplies to the surgical team during procedures.

Maintain a safe and efficient operating room environment, including monitoring and controlling temperature, lighting, and other environmental factors.

Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure that all necessary equipment and supplies are available and functioning properly.

Participate in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to surgical services.

Requirements:

Completion of an accredited surgical technology program or equivalent experience.

Current certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery-Certified (TS-C).

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and to prioritize tasks and responsibilities.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
