About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medication Aide to join our team at Five Star Quality Care, Inc. as a Certified Caregiver - Medication Aide. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of our residents and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Medication Administration: Deliver routine daily medications, either prescription or non-prescription, to residents in a safe and timely manner.
  • Medication Documentation: Record medication dosages and times, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Resident Monitoring: Observe residents and document changes in their condition, reporting any concerns to the nursing staff.
  • Sample Collection: Gather samples for analysis, as required.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensure equipment is routinely inspected and cleaned, maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Uphold all health and safety standards, following federal, state, and agency regulations to protect the health and well-being of residents and staff.
  • Communication: Coordinate with different nurses to assist with resident care and medications, responding to resident emergency call signals and providing excellent customer service.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent, with successful completion of a state-approved Medication Aide course.
  • Experience: Working experience alone, on a team, and on projects start to finish, with strong emotional intelligence and listening skills.
  • Skills: Dedication to the medical field, especially towards working with residents, with the ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Certifications: Must be approved to assist with or administer oral and external medications, per state regulations.
