We are seeking an experienced Orthopedic Surgeon to join our team at the Hershel 'Woody' Williams VA Medical Center in Huntington, West Virginia. As a key member of our medical staff, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, managing complex orthopedic cases, and collaborating with our multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities- Manage complex orthopedic cases and make recommendations to the Chief of Surgery regarding patient care.
- Provide professional services requiring a full range of inpatients and outpatient Orthopedic Surgery services consistent with the hospital's capabilities.
- Collaborate with our multidisciplinary team to deliver exceptional healthcare services and improve patient outcomes.
- Participate in administrative activities associated with patient care, such as consults, encounters, and legal reviews.
- Facilitate patient access to medical care by recommending appropriate referrals to other healthcare providers.
- Provide direct patient care as well as resident supervision and clinical instruction in the operating room, outpatient clinic, and inpatient settings.
- Responsible for the education of medical students and training of interns, residents, technicians, and other physicians.
- Board Eligible/Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery.
- Unrestricted MD/DO medical license with excellent clinical skills and experience in the full range of general orthopedic care.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Excellent compensation package with a great base salary, annual performance pay, biennial market pay raises, and annual cost of living pay raises.
- Sign-on incentive available for highly qualified applicants.
- Student Loan Forgiveness (EDRP) up to $200,000 in student loan forgiveness available based on work commitment.
- Malpractice free liability protection with tail coverage provided.
- Contract no physician employment contract and no significant restrictions on moonlighting.
