Registered Nurse Manager - General Operating Room

Full-Time Position

We are seeking a proficient Registered Nurse Manager to oversee operations within our advanced surgical suites at a prestigious 800-bed academic medical center. This role is pivotal in ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care while supporting the strategic objectives of the organization.

The University of Maryland Medical Center is home to specialized centers, including the Marlene and Stewart Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center and The R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center, which is recognized as the highest-volume trauma center in the nation.

Key Responsibilities

As the Manager of Patient Care Services (PCS), you will:
  • Be responsible for the oversight of patient care services across designated clinical units.
  • Ensure the delivery of clinical services meets established quality, financial, and service standards.
  • Lead and mentor nursing staff, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Design and implement systems that promote effective multidisciplinary team collaboration.
  • Participate actively in organizational projects and committees to enhance service delivery.
  • Conduct regular assessments to ensure quality patient care and compliance with best practices.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is required; a Master's degree with management coursework is preferred.
  • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in Maryland or eligibility for licensure through Compact state agreements.
  • A minimum of three years of clinical nursing experience is required.
  • Certification as a CNOR is preferred.
