Job Overview:


The Senior Aircraft Maintenance Technician (FAA) A&P is responsible for executing both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on aircraft, including intricate repairs and modifications to aircraft structures, components, and engines of varying complexity.

This position entails the upkeep and repair of critical aircraft systems such as flight controls, engines, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, fuel systems, and mechanical components.

The technician utilizes extensive technical knowledge of airframe and power plant systems to diagnose equipment malfunctions and applies expertise to resolve complex issues by interpreting technical documentation, including blueprints and manufacturer manuals.



Key Responsibilities:

Possess a comprehensive understanding of troubleshooting and repair procedures for aircraft mechanical components and the replacement of parts.

Demonstrate proficiency in aircraft sheet metal and structural modifications and repairs.

Exhibit foundational knowledge of electrical theory.


Utilize specialized aircraft tools such as test equipment, torque wrenches, dial indicators, micrometers, sheet metal brakes, and shears effectively.


Maintain accurate records in aircraft logbooks and technical publications, including the Army's Unit Level Logistics Aviation Information System, ULLSAE.

Assess the functionality of basic electrical systems.

Conduct various inspections, including preflight, thru-flight, basic post-flight, and phase inspections.

Manage the launch and recovery of aircraft as necessary.

Perform operational checks on all aircraft systems while ensuring the aircraft's appearance and cleanliness.

Operate all related ground support equipment and utilize hand tools, special tools, and fixtures pertinent to aircraft maintenance.

Carry out all tasks related to the ground movement of aircraft.

Document maintenance actions in aircraft records/forms and complete necessary CAMS entries.

Be prepared to work day shifts, swing shifts, night shifts, and/or weekend shifts as required.

Adhere to safety protocols, maintain tool control, and practice good housekeeping and FOD awareness at all times.

Perform additional qualified duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:


Must hold a valid A&P license and possess five (5) years of aviation maintenance experience, including five (5) years of rotary wing aircraft experience and two (2) years on the assigned LUH-72 MDS.

All experience must be within the last ten (10) years.

All mechanics performing maintenance on FAA certified aircraft must meet FAA standards.


Must have the necessary experience to inspect all required aeronautical type maintenance to be performed by skill class Mechanic I.

Ability to obtain and maintain a NACI(T1) Public Trust Security Clearance is essential. Must be able to secure and maintain facility credentials/authorization. US Citizenship is required for facility credentials/authorization to work at this facility.

A valid Driver's License is mandatory.

Must provide personal tools/toolbox, which should be shadowed and etched with PID.

Preferred Qualifications:


Familiarity with aircraft hand tools, special tools, and test equipment is required.


Knowledge of aircraft safety standards and the operation of portable firefighting equipment is essential.

The ability to read, interpret, and understand schematic diagrams, drawings, charts, and technical publications is required.

Must be capable of routinely lifting and/or moving objects weighing up to 50 pounds.

Must be able to perform job duties that include standing, lifting, bending, pushing, and pulling for extended periods.


Frequent climbing or balancing and working in confined spaces, as well as at heights of 40 feet or more, is required.

Must be able to work in diverse environmental conditions.

May be exposed to high noise levels, fumes, airborne particles, and electrical hazards.
