Job Summary:
The Forensic Nurse Examiner will provide compassionate and non-judgmental care to patients who have experienced trauma. This includes conducting medical forensic exams, providing prophylactic treatments, and documenting evidence. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, be able to work in a fast-paced environment, and maintain confidentiality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collect and document patient data, including medical history and physical examination findings
- Conduct thorough medical forensic exams, including genital examinations and forensic specimen collection
- Administer prophylactic medications and provide referrals for follow-up care
- Document evidence and maintain chain of custody
- Provide testimony as a fact witness and participate in community awareness projects
Requirements:
- Current Montana licensure as a Registered Nurse
- American Heart Association BLS certification
- Competence in modified primary nursing
