Overview
The Albany Medical Center Emergency Department is a Level I Trauma Center and regional referral center for patients requiring acute care.
We are seeking an experienced Registered Professional Nurse to join our team as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department.
Salary: $90,000 - $120,000 per year
Job Description
As a Registered Professional Nurse in the Emergency Department, you will assess, coordinate, plan, direct, implement, and manage the needs of assigned patients throughout their episode of care.
You will be responsible for delivering and coordinating patient care provided by the caregiving team, ensuring competent and compassionate care is uniformly provided to customers, including referring facilities, hospital staff, and patients in various settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessing and evaluating patient needs
- Applying sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions
- Providing primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses
- Collaborating with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for all patients
- Directing and guiding ancillary personnel while maintaining standards of professional nursing
Requirements
A graduate degree from a professional academic nursing program and a minimum of 1-3 years of previous clinical nursing experience in an Emergency Department are required.
Prior experience in a large academic, Level 1 Trauma Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center is preferred.

The Emergency Department is divided into five major zones: Major trauma and critical care, Resuscitation and minor care, Pediatrics, Acute care, and Rapid Care.
