The Sales Associate at H-E-B is responsible for managing inventory and promoting products to both new and established retail clients. Core Responsibilities:

  • Deliver outstanding customer service
  • Organize and maintain the back area for incoming stock
  • Ensure a tidy sales floor and promptly address any spills
  • Stock and rotate merchandise as needed
  • Reset products and maintain optimal shelf conditions with accurate labeling
  • Examine shipments for any expired or damaged goods to ensure quality
  • Comply with all standards for product freshness, safety, refrigeration, and sanitation
  • Maintain standards in shrinkage, safety, and inventory control
  • Assist in merchandising strategies to boost sales
  • Employ suggestive selling techniques to increase sales

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Generally requires 2 years of relevant experience
  • Familiarity with department products, food preparation, and equipment is beneficial
  • Comprehensive understanding of specialty food items and food preparation is essential
  • Strong customer service capabilities
  • Enthusiasm for the food sector
  • Certification in materials handling equipment is a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Capacity to work in varying temperature conditions

Physical and Additional Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift items weighing between 25 to 50 lbs
