Job Summary

We are looking for a talented Electrical Engineer to design and develop substation projects from conceptual design through construction. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, with a focus on power systems and substation design.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop substation projects, including one-lines, three-lines, control schematics, wiring diagrams, relay panel arrangements, specifications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, and generating bills of material
  • Effectively communicate and coordinate project activities with manager, clients, and others as needed
  • Prepare scopes, schedules, and budgets, and ensure that schedules and budgets are met
  • Take on a project engineer and/or project manager role as required

Requirements

  • 4-year degree from an accredited college or university in Electrical Engineering (emphasis in Power is preferred)
  • Current EIT License in the State of Texas or ability to obtain the license within 12 months of hire
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills as well as verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to work closely with other engineering and design team members to coordinate overall design package and requirements
  • Ability to travel
  • Take personal responsibility and ownership for the quality and accuracy of work product
  • Proficiency using AutoCAD or Microstation and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Self-starter
  • Able to simultaneously manage multiple projects
  • Work independently or in a team environment
  • Must be able to routinely lift up to 30lbs
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record required
