Geriatric Internal Medicine Physician

Our client is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physician specializing in Geriatric Medicine to provide exceptional care for elderly patients. This role involves working primarily in an outpatient setting while also managing care in skilled facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary care provider for geriatric patients.
- Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of participants, developing and implementing comprehensive care plans.
- Manage a variable caseload of patients, typically ranging from 2 to 8 per day.
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation, utilizing appropriate diagnostic coding.
- Participate in the provider on-call rotation as necessary.
- Oversee all aspects of care for participants residing in nursing facilities.
Qualifications:
- Board Certification in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine is mandatory.
- Board Certification in Geriatric Medicine is highly preferred.
- Possession of a valid NJ medical license or willingness to obtain one is required.
- CDS Certification and DEA Registration must be secured prior to commencement.
- A minimum of one year of experience working with frail or elderly populations is essential.
- BLS certification is required before starting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Clean malpractice history is highly preferred.
- Experience with EMR TruChart is highly preferred.
