We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Jansky Fellow to join our team at the National Radio Astronomy Observatory. As a Jansky Fellow, you will have the opportunity to conduct independent research in radio astronomy, working closely with our team of scientists and engineers to advance our understanding of the universe.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct independent research in radio astronomy, with a focus on developing new techniques and technologies to advance our understanding of the universe.
- Collaborate with our team of scientists and engineers to design and implement new research projects, and to analyze and interpret data from our telescopes and instruments.
- Develop and maintain a strong research program, with a focus on publishing papers in top-tier scientific journals and presenting research at conferences.
- Participate in the development and delivery of radio astronomy techniques and capabilities, and contribute to the Observatory's research environment.
- Establish yourself as an innovative, independent research scientist and engineer, and become a leader in the field of radio astronomy.
- PhD in astronomy, astrophysics, computer science, or a related field, awarded after September 2019.
