Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Vascular Access Nurse Specialist to join our team at The University of Vermont Health Network. This role is responsible for providing high-quality, family-centered care to patients and their families.

About the Role

The Vascular Access Nurse Specialist will work closely with staff nurses to provide clinical expertise in vascular access devices and complications. Key responsibilities include:

  • Insertion of peripheral intravenous catheters and PICCs using vascular visualization devices, including ultrasound.
  • Consulting with staff related to vascular access devices and complications.
  • Maintaining vascular access devices and performing clinical interventions for PICC issues, including clearance of occluded catheters and dressing protocols.
  • Providing unit-based education and participating in quality and process improvement projects.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, candidates should have prior IV skills and a minimum of 2 years of acute care experience. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for collaboration with staff nurses and other healthcare professionals.

Benefits

This role offers a competitive salary range of $75,000 - $90,000 per year, depending on experience. External candidates are eligible for a one-time signing bonus of $5,000 (prorated for part-time roles).
