Position Overview:

As a Lead Tax Advisor, you will oversee a variety of accounting functions, which include preparing and reviewing tax returns, calculating payroll and sales tax, and generating financial statements. Additionally, you will engage in client consultations, ensuring their financial and tax-related requirements are addressed with accuracy and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of your assigned client portfolio.
  • Examine clients' financial records and documentation.
  • Review the work of bookkeepers and provide mentorship during the review process.
  • Prepare financial statements and offer consultation to clients.
  • Prepare and review a variety of tax returns (Federal & State) including 1040, 1040NR, 1041, 1120/1120S, 1065, and 990.
  • Conduct tax planning and projections.
  • Address and resolve IRS/State notices, including communication with IRS/State and clients, and drafting written responses.
  • Perform necessary tax and accounting research.

Requirements:

  • 4+ years of experience in accounting and tax preparation.
  • Possession of CPA or enrolled agent status.
  • Extensive knowledge of QuickBooks.
  • Proficiency in Lacerte (or similar software), Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
