We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our dynamic Neurology team at UTHealth Houston for our Woodlands Epilepsy Clinic. As a key member of our team, you will provide outstanding care to patients with neurological conditions, with a specific focus on epilepsy management in both hospital and outpatient clinic settings.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct complex patient evaluations and assessments, and provide appropriate treatment, including monitoring and ordering medications.
- Coordinate, direct, and implement patient care plans, ensuring seamless transitions between hospital and outpatient settings.
- Assist in collecting patient histories, screens for co-morbidities, and provides guidance and preventative health care as needed.
- Perform physical examinations and provide episodic care, or problem-oriented care, under the supervision of a physician.
- Order appropriate laboratory, diagnostic, and radiographic tests, and interpret results.
- Current Texas licensure as a Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN)
- Current specialty certification as required by department, excluding Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) certification unless paired with a post-master's certification in specialty
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or specialty certification as required by department
