Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety and well-being of clients at all times, adhering to EEC guidelines and program policies.
- Monitor clients during daily activities and night routines, enforcing rules and regulations.
- Plan and implement engaging activities during free time, promoting socialization and skill-building.
- Conduct thorough intake and discharge procedures, including paperwork and client belongings management.
- Complete all necessary documentation, including log entries, incident reports, and clinical reports.
- Prevent crisis situations from escalating, utilizing Therapeutic Crisis Intervention Skills and physical restraints if necessary.
- Attend and participate in program meetings and professional trainings.
- Maintain required certifications, including MAP certification within six months of start date.
- Accept advocacy responsibilities for assigned residents, providing coaching, mentoring, and support.
- Report suspected child abuse to the Supervisor or DCF.
- Assist with meal preparation, laundry chores, and other household duties.
- Be punctual and adhere to program policies and procedures.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues as part of a team.
Requirements
- Associates or Bachelor's Degree preferred; High School education or equivalent accepted.
- One year of related experience working with adolescents preferred.
- Basic computer knowledge required.
- Valid Driver's license, proof of insurance, and vehicle.
- Yearly completion of DEEC required and OCY training programs.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to assist with restraining residents up to 200 pounds; capable of working with clients with severe emotional and behavioral problems.
- Visual and auditory acuity to maintain program security.
