Job Summary

The VETERANS HEALTH ADMINISTRATION is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Otolaryngology Surgeon to join our team. As a Staff Otolaryngologist, you will be responsible for providing high-quality medical and surgical care to our patients, as well as contributing to the development and implementation of our otolaryngology service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide medical and surgical care to patients with a range of otolaryngology-related conditions, including but not limited to, ear, nose, and throat disorders, head and neck cancers, and sinusitis.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans for patients, including medication, surgery, and other interventions.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including nurses, therapists, and specialists, to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of our otolaryngology service, including the creation of policies and procedures, and the provision of education and training to staff.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives, including the analysis of data and the identification of areas for improvement.
  • Participate in the recruitment and training of new staff members, including medical students, residents, and fellows.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of our research program, including the design and conduct of studies, and the analysis and publication of results.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Completion of a residency program in otolaryngology or a related field.
  • Board certification in otolaryngology or a related field.
  • Current licensure to practice medicine in the United States.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and identify areas for improvement.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple priorities and deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a hospital or clinical setting.
  • Experience working with electronic medical records (EMRs) and other healthcare technology.
  • Experience with quality improvement initiatives and research studies.
  • Experience with teaching and training medical students, residents, and fellows.
