We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mechanic II - Heavy Equipment Repair Specialist to join our team at the Solid Waste Disposal Authority of Baldwin Co AL. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for the repair and maintenance of heavy equipment and automotive vehicles.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze and diagnose complex problems with heavy equipment and automotive vehicles, including engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements.
- Repair and replace parts, including engines, transmissions, and hydraulic components.
- Operate and maintain heavy equipment, including motor graders, backhoes, and bulldozers.
- Supervise and assist junior mechanics as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in heavy equipment repair and maintenance.
- Experience with hydraulic systems and troubleshooting.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
This is a full-time position that requires working in a fast-paced environment with frequent exposure to heavy equipment, loud noises, and varying weather conditions. The successful candidate must be able to lift up to 100 pounds and work at heights.
