POSITION SUMMARY:

The role is centered around the collection and management of project specifications, metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, and other documentation essential for projects within the organization. This position plays a crucial role in enhancing processes, products, services, and software through thorough data examination. The Business Systems Analyst serves as a liaison between the IT department and business units to drive operational efficiency. Responsibilities include identifying and prioritizing both technical and functional requirements while collaborating with the project management office (PMO) and IT teams to meet strategic project management objectives.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1) Identify data requirements and collaborate with teams to address them.

a) Partner with teams to outline specifications for requirements, mockups, and data flows that align with project objectives.

b) Engage with business leaders and staff to evaluate various reporting needs.

c) Develop a comprehensive understanding of corporate data sources and their interconnections to ensure project success.

d) Assess reporting needs in relation to strategic goals and formulate plans to deliver optimal reporting solutions to stakeholders.

2) Oversee ongoing and on-demand project management requirements, reports, and dashboards.

a) Extract operational, performance, statistical, and other relevant data from diverse sources.

b) Provide maintenance and respond to inquiries regarding reporting and analysis needs for projects.

c) Utilize various software tools, including desktop applications, spreadsheets, report writing software, statistical analysis tools, graphical presentation software, and project management applications to compile, manipulate, and format data and reports.

d) Adhere to controls to ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and confidentiality of all requirements, views, dashboards, analyses, and data.

e) Assist in training and support for end users regarding access to requirements.

f) Provide assistance and support to organizational personnel as necessary.

3) Collaborate closely with the project management office to analyze and interpret results.

a) Analyze, interpret, and summarize outputs effectively.

b) Participate in the interpretation and context of the requirements gathering process.

c) Support IT, QA, and business teams in testing and implementation needs.

d) Identify exceptions, trends, and measures that deviate from established limits while collaborating with project managers.

e) Recognize potential issues based on current trend projections.

f) Conduct statistical and data analysis of requirements for management and other personnel, highlighting key observations and findings.

QUALIFICATIONS:


• Proven experience with business intelligence tools in medium to large organizations.


• Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently and respond swiftly to challenges.


• Capacity to translate concepts and directives into actionable solutions.


• Understanding of relational database structures and multi-dimensional data.


• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.


• Team-oriented mindset.


• Familiarity with the financial services sector is preferred.


• Knowledge of Smartsheet, Jira, Confluence, and SharePoint is advantageous.


• Experience in dashboard design and delivery is a plus.

EXPERIENCE:


• 7 to 10 years of experience in gathering, maintaining, and supporting successful projects within technical and financial institutions.

EDUCATION:


• Bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or a related business field. Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of formal education.
